Where can a history degree take you? UC History graduate Matt Frost shares memories of university, discusses life since graduating, explains how history has proved useful, and offers advice for those studying history today and in the future.

History study options

Matt Frost, QSM, is a Principal Advisor in Whaikaha – the first Ministry of Disabled People in the world. He was previously at the Ministry of Education as a Principal Advisor: Lived Experience.

On human rights for disabled people, Matt has represented Aotearoa New Zealand at the UN in New York. His longstanding advocacy has included chairing the Implementation Advisory Group for the New Zealand Autism Spectrum Disorder Guideline and serving as Deputy Chair of the Living Guideline Group.

To celebrate UC’s 150th anniversary, UC Ahorangi | Professor Katie Pickles hosts a ‘this is your life’ homecoming conversation with Matt.
