Volunteering Opportunities

Please have a look!

Read through the range of opportunities you could gain through workplace experience and enhance your leadership skills.

Holiday Programme Leader
Our holiday programmes operate in three city locations: Papa Hou in the City, Bishopdale Rec Centre, and Te Kāpehu Riccarton Primary. These programs offer a variety of fun activities and are overseen by experienced supervisors who support volunteers in achieving their goals. Volunteers are encouraged to take risks in leading activities and engaging with children, fostering the development of leadership skills, confidence, and new relationships.

Basketball and Gymnastics Coach
At Bishopdale Recreation Centre, we run after-school term programs for children aged 5 to 12, spanning nine weeks each term. Students have the opportunity to assist our coaches during basketball sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6 pm, as well as gymnastics sessions on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 6 pm. They may lead drills or games, contributing to their growth and skill development.

Basketball Referee
During Terms 2 and 3, we host a Year 5-8 School Basketball Competition on Thursday and Friday evenings. Students can learn from experienced staff and referees while participating as referees or in other roles throughout the competition.

Please note students must be 15+ years old to volunteer with us.
